Tikanga 102

Prerequisite: to have completed Tikanga 101 or have equivalent knowledge. This course builds on the learning of Tikanga 101 to further explore tikanga Māori within a Playcentre context.

This course contains six sections:

1. Te Kawa o te Mana me te Mauri – upholding Kawa, Mana and Mauri

2. Karakia incantations to open and close proceedings including karakia for kai

3. Engage with te ao Māori through sharing pepeha and mihimihi

4. Exploration of Kōrero Pūrākau and Atua Māori

5. Transmission of Tūpuna Wisdom through whakataukī, whakatauāki and waiata

6. Tikanga in Playcentre and Whaiwhakaaro reflection

We recommend that you aim to complete one section per week, however since it is a self-directed course, you can choose a pace that suits you.
