This online, self-directed unit opens on the 1st of the month and remains live for 1 month.
Available only to learners enrolled with Playcentre Education prior to 2026.
Prerequisite: You must have completed PE1 Ūkaipōtanga.
In PE3 Whanaungatanga - Positive Relationships you will explore:
Creating positive environments - setting the scene for success
Building solid relationships and communicating effectively
Understanding how tamariki learn emotional regulation and social skills
Supporting tamariki through heightened emotions and challenging behaviours
PE3 is an optional choice as the second module for the pre-2025 Playcentre Introductory Award (PIA) and is required to complete the Playcentre Educator Award (PEA).
Note: if you have completed the updated 2026 Playcentre Introductory Award booklet you do not need to book for this module.
