Kia Tākaro - Play and Learning (PIA)

Kia Tākaro - Play and Learning is one of the 4 workshops required to complete the Playcentre Introductory Award (PIA).

Unpack the essentials of what we do at Playcentre to support children's learning. Explore the value of learning through play, the role of whānau as kaiako and ages/stages of development. Leave with hands-on play and learning ideas to implement at home and at your Playcentre.

Facilitator: Moira Siobhan moira@playcentre.org.nz

Limited spaces for additional children available.  Please contact the facilitator if you are bringing tamariki not already enrolled on this session so the centre can plan accordingly.

The 4 required workshops must each be booked separately and can be done in any order:

1. Kia Tākaro - Play & Learning

2. Whakamana - Empowering Children

3. Learning through Play (select any topic that interests you)

4. Learning through Play (select a different topic)

The PIA is the starting point for all Playcentre learners. All Playcentre whānau and caregivers including non-residents are eligible to complete the PIA. There is no formal enrolment required, simply pick up a PIA Booklet in centre (PDFs are available on the Playcentre Education webpage) and work your way through the requirements.
